ECB President Lagarde intervened to block Binance's EU MiCA license application

ECB President Christine Lagarde intervened at the highest level to block Binance's MiCA license application in Greece, according to the Wall Street Journal, despite regulators having previously deemed the application complete.

Although the ECB holds no formal licensing authority under MiCA, the intervention stalled a process that could have opened EU market access for the world's largest crypto exchange.
