Track record
A track record is the performance history of a trader or strategy: return, drawdown and number of trades over a given period.
A credible track record rests on verifiable data, ideally taken directly from a live account at a regulated broker. Screenshots and self-reported results are easy to fake.
To judge it, look at the duration (a few weeks prove nothing), the number of trades, the maximum drawdown, how smooth the equity curve is, the leverage used and whether return and risk are consistent.
Be wary of spectacular returns over a short period, perfectly smooth curves (often a sign of martingale or grid systems) and histories from demo accounts. Analyse-Trading publishes verified track records from real, connected broker accounts.
