Trading journal
A trading journal records every position: date, market, reasons for entry, stop, exit, result, emotions. It is the basis of all progress.
A serious journal logs for each trade the setup used, the entry level, the stop, the target, the size, the result in R and in money, a screenshot and your state of mind.
After a few dozen trades, it reveals patterns you would never see otherwise: a setup that always loses, mistakes on Friday afternoons, stops moved after a losing streak.
The key figures follow directly: win rate, average win, average loss, expectancy, profit factor, drawdown. A history linked automatically to your broker account avoids omissions and convenient memories. Review it every week, not only after a bad day.
